Aarnio had the idea for a hanging chair because ‘there is no nice way to make a clear pedestal.’ Meaning he wanted a transparent chair but just could not find a base that did the design justice, the hanging chair eliminates the need for a base completely. It shares the same characteristics as the Ball Chair, creating a cocoon that shields off the outside world, except with the bubble you can still see it all happening around you!
The bubble is made almost completely of acrylic, the PU cushions are removable and washable, the chain is included and we recommend professional installation. We also advise that if small children are using this chair that you keep watch at all time, we can't be held accountable if the chair is used as a wrecking ball.
